Marks and Spencer shake up merchandise team

John Dixon, the recent head of merchandise, has further shaken up the merchandising team at Marks and Spencer by appointing Stephanie Chen as director of kidswear and home, and Scott Fyfe as director of menswear.

Chen arrives at the company from House of Fraser, whilst Fyfe had formerly been director of Marks and Spencer womenswear.

Karl Doyle, the current kidswear director will leave the company in March 2013 and Damian Guha, director of home will move to a new role within Marks and Spencer.

These changes come after disappointing sales figures in the three months leading up to June 30, which had Marks and Spencer's biggest quarterly sales drop since the third quarter of 2008/9.

These low sales were attributed to the wet weather, but the store underperformed against both Debenhams and John Lewis.
